The Second Stage's taste in plays / minimalist sets / styles of acting, are right up our alley and have never disappointed (main stage has never disappointed either). Since its founding in 1864, Swarthmore College has given students the knowledge, insight, skills, and experience to become leaders for the common good.
I have to say that I much prefer the quality of the productions at PCS to a variety of shows we've seen elsewhere in recent years, and you will laugh (pleasantly) at the price of PCS as compared to what you get for three times the price downtown (plus parking or train fare). White are led by Wadsworth the butler to find the killer. The main stage at PCS does a lot of Broadway titles, but the second stage is for the more off-beat cerebral shows, which we prefer and ADORE! We frequent downtown playhouses, plus Delaware Theater Co, and other local venues. Synopsis: Six mysterious guests arrive at a remote mansion for a dinner party only to discover that murder is on the menu When their host turns up dead, Miss Scarlet, Professor Plum, Mr.
I prefer off-Broadway when in NYC but have seen a lot of Broadway as well. I am no thespian, nor highbrow critic, just an English major (+ more English in grad school + Penn-In-London semester abroad) who knows a lot of plays and loves to see live productions any and everywhere we go. My husband and I recently rediscovered this gem in Swarthmore.
